Radio free FM

The most played station id on Radio free FM for sure is "Hemmer ned" - translation: "we don't play that". The jingle pictures the common situation of listeners requesting a special song by phone-in whereby always the same known title are requested. In reality music choice is dictated by format rules to fullfil the advertisments audience on demand requirements. So this jingle pictures as well the situation that participation on normal broadcast station is reduced to serve as illustration. (German only)

In den 70ern und 80ern waren die Cartoons von Kim Casali omnipräsent - sie wurden nicht nur in Zeitungen und auf Verpackungen gedruckt, man konnte sie im Laden um die Ecke in allen möglichen und unmöglichen Produktvarianten erstehen: Als Tasse, Bleistiftanhänger, Schulheft oder als roter Radiergummi in Herzform.

Zum Sendestart von Radio free FM adaptierte Frank Maier das bekannte Muster für ein Feature - er ließ Passanten ihre Version von "Freiheit ist" in das Cassetten-Reportagegerät sprechen. Zum 20jährigen Jubiläum haben wir eine Neuauflage herausgebracht.

Älles am Schdugg ist eine Sendung, die ganze Alben am Stück präsentiert. Der Opener zur Sendung produziert von Andreas Usenbenz nach einer Idee des Moderators Peter Foschum ist ein Paradebeispiel für den kreativen Output der Macher und Macherinnen.

This example is the intro of Älles am Schdugg. The aim of the program is to present an album at full length. The title is a wordplay meaning "at a stretch". Buying something at a butchery one will often be asked if you get your sausage in pieces. So the intro tells a story at the butchery asking for sausage - the answer is of course you get the music at a stretch on Radio free FM. (Swabian dialect only)
