Tom Waits - Rain Dogs

35 - Tom Waits neuntes Album "Rain Dogs" (1985) ist in mehrfacher Hinsicht ein Meilenstein seines Schaffens. Keith Richards ist zum ersten Mal zu hören (und wird auf späteren Alben wieder reinschauen), der Gitarrist Mark Ribot gibt seinen Einstand (woraus eine langjährige Freundschaft und Zusammenarbeit wird) und auch seine Frau Kathleen Brennan wird erstmals als Mitautorin eines Songs genannt. Nach dem Vorgänger "Swordfishtrombones" macht "Rain Dogs" vor allem klar: Dieser Typ wird im Alter nicht brav werden ... im Gegenteil. Eine abwechslungsreiche Scheibe, die vom Rolling Stone zurecht als eine der besten 500 Platten aller Zeiten eingestuft wurde.
