Nr. 230, Exile -  All There Is (1979)

Exile ist eine Band, die 1963 in Richmond, Kentuck (USA) zunächst als "The Exiles" gegründet wurde, dann ab 1973 nur noch "Exile" hieß. Die Band wurde 1978/79 in Deutschland bekannt, als sie mehre Hits in den deutschen Singlecharts platzieren konnte. Gründungsmitglieder waren J.P. Pennington, Les Taylor, Sonny LeMaire, Marlon Hargis und Steve Goetmann. Der bekannteste Titel "Kiss you All Over" erreichte die Top 10. Während ihrer erfolgreichsten Phase wurden Exile vom "Hit-Schreiberduo" Nicky Chinn und  Mike Chapmann produziert. Mit nachlassendem Erfolg im Pop-Bereich schwenkte die Band in den 1980er-Jahren auf Country-Musik um. Zu erwähnen ist, daß Exile's Frontmann J.P. Penningten aus einer Countrymusiker-Familie entstammte, was diese Umorintierung beförderte. Die Band bestand bis 1995. Wir spielen in AAS heute das (3.) Album "All There Is" von 1979 und ergänzen in der verbleibenden Zeit die Liste um Titel aus dem (2.) 1978er-Album "Mixed Emotions". Über die Jahre wechselte die Besetzung häufig. Exile sind auch heute gelegentlich noch aktiv - wenn auch seit 1995 kein Album mehr veröffentlicht wurde. Zwischen 1973 und 1995 wurden insgesamt 13 Alben veröffentlicht. Kommerziel war "Mixed Emotions" das erfolgreichste Album - auf dem u.a. auch "Kiss You All Over" enthalten ist.
